inspiring growth + connection
calling all sheep fans and the fiber-curious!
Community is important.
I started The Flock to build a diverse and inclusive online community of people who are interested in small-scale farming, sheep, and sustainable fibers.
When our family was still living in Seattle with full-time jobs outside the home and three small children, in-person maker communities were not an option for me. I went looking for an experienced and supportive shepherd, the internet brought me to a wonderful woman who provided guidance and encouragement not only to me but to a group of people like me, in the early days of shepherding.
Now, I have the opportunity to share a space like that with you! This community–The Flock–is a chance for us to learn from each other, inspire each other, and support each other in a private community.
Are you ready to take this journey with me?

Your peek into
real-deal farm life
Are you stuck in the city for your day job but curious what it’s like to raise sheep and other fiber animals on a small farm?
I started thinking about raising sheep back in 2016. Back then, I was commuting into the city every day. I loved my work but the question kept niggling at me: was this what my life was meant to be?
Now, 8+ years later, I’ve jumped into farming with both feet. It’s a wild adventure and I want to share it with you!
When you join The Flock, you’ll have access to regularly scheduled group calls, exclusive live and recorded video feeds, and private chat spaces. It’s all happening in The Shed, our online community space.
The flock is family-friendly
Lamb Livestream
Check in on the sheep any time, over the internet.
The live stream is one-way, from our pastures to you. For extra security, the sound is muted. No sound so you don’t have to worry about tiny ears overhearing anything you’re not ready for them to hear.
Educational Content
Sheep are a wonderful starting point for all kinds of scientific exploration.
Peruse our expanding library of ideas and activities. Whether you’re interested in life cycles, ecosystems, anatomy or physics, the goal is to have something on file for you!
Weekly Coffee Chat
Whether you check in on the sheep with your kids to get a few minutes to rest, or you pop in to our weekly coffee chats for some adult conversation, you’re welcome.
Parenting is tough and sometimes it’s nice to just take a moment for yourself.
An inclusive space to connect with fellow Eco-conscious makers
Are you a maker looking to incorporate sustainable natural fibers into your making and connect with people who are producing those fibers?
Welcome! Just as small farms have changed the model and expectations for fresh foods, I’m excited to be part of the movement that’s changing the model and expectations for sustainable textiles.
When you join The Flock, you are not only supporting our farm. You are investing in the future and scalability of a profitable earth-friendly fiber business. That’s a big deal!

A window into small farm life
Because The Shed is a private online space, we are able to share more detail of the good days and the challenging ones.
A chance to learn something new
Shepherding is a seasonal endeavor. There is a season of lambing, a season of growing, a season of new homes, and a season of rest. New lessons unfold in every season and I love to share them.
An engaged virtual community
Between live chats, videos and posts on a variety of sheep and wool topics, and final lamb name decisions, there are lots of ways to participate.
