Hello Friends~

September has arrived at Windy Indigo Farm & Fiber with blue skies and a bit of sun.

Last month, we joined the ewes and rams. The rams will stay with the ewes for 40 days, give or take. That means lambs should be coming starting the second week of January.

Of course, we had the little ram break-out in July so it’s possible that we may have a couple of *oops* babies. Oh well. We love them all!

I’m happy to say that the barn is full of hay and alfalfa for the upcoming winter season.

Next up…

Also on the docket for this month: picking blackberries, finishing the ram shelter, and deep cleaning all of the barn stalls in advance of winter.

On the needles…

With temperatures cooling and kids back to school, I’m excited to pick my knitting needles back up in earnest.

I finished a two-color brioche cowl (cream alpaca-wool + hand painted silk in muted jewel tones), which I’ve completely fallen in love with.

Currently, I’m working on a straightforward reversible scarf using the cream alpaca-wool that’s leftover from the cowl. The stitch definition is amazing and I could probably be more creative but my brain needs a break and my hands need to fidget.

Love and magic.

Want to see me, my sheep or fiber in person?

Still, what I want in my life
is to be willing
to be dazzled—
to cast aside the weight of facts
and maybe even
to float a little
above this difficult world.
